On July 14, 1966, Gene Buckley, our father, fulfilled his desire to aid his community by opening the garage doors for the first time. He utilized his expertise in automotive repair, which he gained during his championship racing days, and honed his business skills as a regional manager for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. As a result, he quickly established a prosperous enterprise.
Gene Buckley never rested on his achievements. He continuously improved his automotive skills and ensured that each of his customers received personalized attention and respect. He dedicated himself to his customers and community, earning him numerous accolades over the years. These awards, from major oil company honors for exceptional achievements to recognition as a community leader, were badges of honor that signified his unwavering efforts.
From 1966 to the summer of 2006, we remained at our original location on Maryland Avenue. However, when an opportunity presented itself, we seized it. In the fall of that year, we relocated our business, family, and company to our new address, 1604 E. Newport Pike, 19804. Our new location offers over 5 bays of floor space for additional cars, a larger 1/2 acre lot, and an easily accessible location near I-95 and towns such as Newport, Elsmere, Pike Creek, Hockessin, New Castle, Newark, and Wilmington.
As we settle into our new location, we now have the opportunity to expand our services to meet the growing maintenance and repair needs of our clients. We are thrilled about the possibilities with our retail partner, NAPA, and the benefits they bring. NAPA provides us with local, regional, and national branding tools, as well as franchise-type systems, training, and management support. All of these resources are designed to benefit our clients with quality service, parts, and warranties.
As time passes, we will continue to uphold our proven and time-tested traditions and principles. While faces, names, and people may change, customer care should never waver.
