Why Do I Hear An Engine Rattle In My Jeep?

Jeep Wrangler And Cherokee Engine Rattle

Do you own a V6 Jeep In Wilmington? Do you hear an engine rattle in your Jeep Wrangler or Grand Cherokee?  Check Engine Light on? A very small part causes a major problem with the Pentastar 3.6 V6 Engine. That part is the actual lifter or  roller tappet that starts to wear causing it to “wobble” instead of roll normally. Once the fatigue sets in, it causes the camshaft to scar and wear down. From there, it just gets worse until finally, all new rollers, camshafts and seals needs to be replaced.

We have seen this situation happen when the mileage hits 70,000 but most common around 85,000. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter if you have taken pristine care of your Jeep even with timely oil changes. Don’t get us wrong, proper oil service intervals help prolong the issue, but eventually, this particular #Jeepcamshaft issue will reveal itself.

If you’re not sure about an engine rattle, seek out a professional to confirm. Local? Give us a call and we can help you confirm what and where the engine rattle is coming from. www.BuckleysAutoCare.com 302-999-8285 #jeep #jeepv6engine
